Men’s Health - India’s largest selling men’s magazine - has published the global sex survey in its September issue. Touted as the largest survey of its kind, the magazine surveyed more than 50,000 people from over 30 countries across the world to gauge sexual attitudes and behaviors of different people. The main purpose of this survey was to examine how men & women from different parts of the world are better than others in certain aspects of sex and relationships. And the survey revealed some really unexpected findings that have raised many eyebrows - especially in India.
According to the survey, Indian men are the least sexually active people in the whole world. In fact, it has been found that Indian men indulge in sex less than once per week on average, as compared to more sexually active Croats, Greeks, Dutch, British and Americans. Plus, the survey has revealed that Indian man has only 3 sexual partners throughout his life, compared to a Croatian man’s score of 11! And coming to Indian women, they are likely to have on average only 2 sexual partners in their lifetime. By contrast, women from U.S., U.K., and Australia are said to have a lifetime average of 9 partners.
The study also revealed that Indian men are less adventurous in bed than their counterparts around the world. The area where Indian men scored highest is kissing, as around 73% of men have admitted that kissing is their favorite foreplay activity. The survey also stated that Indian men shy away from using sex toys. And almost half of the Indian men surveyed (48 percent) have confessed that they think their partners regularly fake orgasms.
It has also been found that around 77% of Indian women want men to shave their lower body hair while only 32% of men end up doing so. Perhaps the most attention-grabbing result of this sex survey is that Indian women are far more sexually open than their male counterparts. As per the survey, women in India are six times more likely to have sex in the back of a hired cab than American women.
So, why men in India have less sex than their counterparts from other countries across the world? Some people believe that the strict Indian culture in which they are raised eventually leads to suppression of sexual appetite and desire. While some others believe that it might be due to the lack of privacy and the fact that they live in noisy “joint family”, causes such low rate of sex.
