Why should you Quit Coffee?

All of us know the phrase, every coin has two sides one beneficial and one harmful. So, everything contains both good and bad effects on the body. We also heard the phrase; excess of everything is bad so everything must be consumed in limited quantity for getting its benefits. But some things are very confusing, so we do not understand that they are beneficial or harmful for us. Coffee is also one of these confusing products. Almost everyone lives a stimulant-driven life with drugs that are used to push them past the point of tiredness so they can continue their work without observing their body’s requirement for a break. Coffee contains a stimulant drug, caffeine that is advantageous, if it is used for short term; but if it is consumed for a long term, its negative effects will be shown on our body.
Why should you Quit Coffee?

If you consume the caffeine each day, day in, and day out, your body will ultimately suffer the negative effects of caffeine. Long term use of coffee can prevent our ability to keep stable energy production and good health. Caffeine makes you addict of it and as you become addict, you do not refresh without coffee in the morning. Long term use of it can also cause different health diseases such as digestion issues, irritability, sleep problems, headaches, dehydration, weight gain, general malaise and physical fatigue. So, give up the coffee and improve your health. Refer this article to know some reasons to quit the coffee.

Why should you Quit Coffee?

1.) Caffeine harms adrenal glands:

The adrenal glands produce a neurotransmitter, adrenaline, from the amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine. Catecholamines and other brain chemicals make you feel lively, focused and ready to get to work and that are produced by your body, when you eat protein-rich foods that contain amino acids. Caffeine exhausts your adrenals that help you in producing more catecholamines and make you an addictive. The caffeine raises the stress hormone, catecholamines that brings out cortisol and boosts insulin. Insulin raises inflammation, and this makes you feel lousy.

2.) Caffeine suppresses your appetite:

Caffeine is a usual hunger suppressant. Hunger is the way of our body to tell us that it requires nutrients. If we drink coffee before consuming breakfast, then it offers you feeling that you are not hungry, in other words, it interferes with your body systems, and true hunger feelings/requirements of body.

3.) Caffeine depletes feel-good neurotransmitters:

Caffeine injures our ability to produce neurotransmitters, or feel-good brain chemicals. Serotonin is the brain chemical that is reduced by coffee. Coffee inhibits us to build blocks for good brain chemistry.

4.) Caffeine makes fat:

Do you know thyroid gland manages our metabolism? If thyroid function becomes low, then metabolism will be slow and you will gain weight. Thyroid gland works in tandem with adrenals, so we require vigorous adrenals for the thyroid to work appropriately. The adrenal glands are stressed by caffeine. If you drink coffee, your adrenal glands will be stressed and your metabolism will slow down.

5.) Caffeine lowers your sex drive:

Adrenal glands are responsible for producing sex hormones. Caffeine stresses adrenal glands and tired adrenal glands cannot produce enough sex hormones, testosterone. Low testosterone hormone lowers your sex drive.

6.) Caffeine hurts fertility:

Women require sufficient progesterone hormone to get pregnant and carry a pregnancy. The caffeine stresses adrenal glands to raise the hormone, catecholamines that bring out cortisol that is required to regulate the stressful situation. When adrenal glands are exhausted, it cannot make enough cortisol. Our body uses as much progesterone as it needs to make cortisol and the lack of progesterone does not help women to get pregnant. Caffeine could cause an increase in miscarriages, gynaecological problems and birth defects. If you are pregnant, it could raise the threat of premature births and cause lower average birth weights.

7.) Caffeine causes insomnia:

It is found in researches that caffeine also reduces whole sleep time. If you consume over 250 milligrams of caffeine (2-3 cups of coffee) per day, then your sleep quality will become poor. Serotonin is essential for normal sleep, mood, bowel function and energy levels. Coffee lowers levels of serotonin synthesis in the brain and can disturb sleep and promote anxiety and depression.

8.) Caffeine causes high blood sugar levels and cardiovascular disease:

If you became habitual of caffeine, then it will reduce insulin sensitivity, and make it hard for your cells to react properly to blood sugar. Arterial worsening and enhanced risk of mortality related to cardiovascular disease are caused by high blood sugar levels.

9.) Caffeine can make you sick:

Immune function is suppressed by caffeine. The adrenals produce over 150 hormones. Caffeine causes glucocorticoids and if it is produced in excess, then it can suppress immunity. Suppressed Immune system cannot help us in fighting with disease and we can become sick.

10.) Caffeine causes malnutrition:

Caffeine also causes the loss of thiamin and other B vitamins, minerals, calcium, chloride, sodium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. If you drink coffee at the time of a meal, it can cause a 50 percent reduction in iron uptake. Increased urinary excretion of significant minerals has been noticed in coffee drinkers. If your electrolyte status becomes imbalance, then you can lead to serious systemic complications.

Other reasons to quit coffee:
  • Unfiltered coffee contains the uppermost quantity of advantageous antioxidants, however it also leaks the most diterpenes into your system. These diterpenes have been connected to higher levels of triglyceride, LDL and VLDL levels.
  • Caffeine increases the chlorogenic acids that may delay glucose absorption in the intestine to increase homocysteine levels. Increased homocysteine levels indicate increased threat of cardiovascular disease that tends to be elevated in diabesity.
  • If you become addicted of coffee, then it makes actually hard to depend on the body's natural source of energy.
  • Coffee and its ingredients can interfere with usual drug metabolism and detoxification in the liver, and make it difficult to adjust the normal detoxification procedure in the liver.
  • Caffeine reduces the production of DHEA, rebuild & repair hormone that keeps skin rejuvenating and well nourished. Caffeine speeds up the aging of our skin and massively dehydrating by which it becomes difficult to get sufficient fluids to keep the skin hydrated and better able to manage toxins.
  • Coffee encourages the release of a laundry list of stress hormones such as cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine and glucocorticoids. These hormones maintain the body in a condition of physiological stress. Caffeine stimulates physiological processes of the body and motivates the state of stress. Coffee drinker experiences short burst of energy and concentration, then tension and anxiety.
  • Caffeine consumption increases blood pressure and heart rhythm irregularities such as palpitations. The chances of heart attacks and strokes can be raised with the increased stress on the heart.
  • Caffeine also affects our glandular endocrine system, which controls our hormonal production. This complex system produces more than 20 main hormones that power each cell, organ, and function in our bodies such as the regulation of mood, metabolism, growth, sexual and reproductive functions.
  • Caffeine raises homocysteine, a biochemical that injures artery walls.
  • Caffeine injures the nervous system.
Now, what is your plan? Do you want to stop drinking coffee or not? You need to take a break from coffee intake just for one time and experience how the life can be lived on your own fuel and you feel genuinely energized.
